Progress or procrastination...?

Ok, so its been a week or so after getting this blog up and running as I learn more about AI. Its been interesting, and a little tumulus.

It was reccomended somewhere to me (or I heard it), that I should look on X (do we still have also qualify this with “also twitter”) and follow some select tech leaders in AI.

I left X a whilte ago, as its a pretty toxic place if you let the algorithms run loose, and I mean toxic, Im not sure if its an Elon Era thing but, goodness, some of the comments, on feeds are tant amount to hate speech, and the bery least there cold be many nase qualifcations for defamation or libel!

Of course, this time, I was only there for tech, nothing else, no politics, no social stuff, it would be fine… Well sort of.

I posted my first post looking at the AI comunity. reaching out to connet with some ai people for tips and tricks. I was introduced to Grok, X’s own AI, which is an aritcle in itself in a while. However Grok does help very well collating lists of users to follow and they were generall quite good.

Then I got a comment.. well lets say a troll, I notorioous (I later found) scrote, who lurks on X waiting for the right post. Well. lets just say he was quite literal in equating my AI exploraion as indicative of encouraging certain sexual crimes against women and children. Something about LLMs being all indented to steal peoples data and cover up crimes, and that I was complicit. I made the mistake of replying, asking was he actually referring to me, to which he said yes, and that my AI was part of the Epstein scandal and then he tagged the Finnish Police X account and asked could they investigate me for certain things.

I had to resist even more but my inherent sense of fairnes kicked in and I gave in and ended up being slammed in a tirade of poor english, mispelled but disgusting rhetoric and further harassment of filth. Thankfully I came to my senses, reported him and blocked him. I did a little research beyond X on this, and discovered he is a prolific troll and has been banned yet unbanned several times.

Thankfully, with a little self control and algorithm manipulation I managed to get the feed into a tech friendly environment, as well as some well collated lists and groups.

So now I am back up and running and added my self imposed hour limit on soial media, but it is a stark lesson in todays social media environment. Even in something like tech, there is always someone with the desire to disrupt, offend and crush Lets see now I can beneft from this new resource and apply some of the wisdom I read, and control myself to avoid rising to the bait.
